Spring 2013 Auxiliary Leadership Training

     SPRING 2013 AUXILIARY LEADERSHIP TRAINING

We would encourage everyone in the presidency and serving in primary to take the time to watch this wonderful broadcast. Click below and you can go right to it
2013 Auxiliary Training
We feel so blessed to have this so easily available to us. We are so grateful for the technology that lets us watch this over and over again, as it is filled with such wonderful council that we can apply to ourselves and to the primaries.

In the meeting Sister Wixom says that there are only two requirements to serve in primary
1.) Love the Children
2.) Love the Lord

I thought that was so wonderful, as sometimes it seems we get so caught up in the organization of primary. Sister Wixom acknowledged how hard it sometimes can be to find teachers, and truly can empathized with the troubles we can face at times, but then asked us to look out at our primary and focus on one child. She said " look into the face of that child, see the light in their eyes... See who they can become, and treat them like they are already that person."

As Primary Presidents, Councillors and teachers we need to show the children the love of Jesus Christ by our actions, the way we speak, the way we talk and the way we teach. We want the children to feel the spirit in our primaries and we do that by providing a place were the spirit can reside. Thank you for your service throughout our stake

THE POWER OF A TEACHERS LOVE

Taken from the manual  "Teaching: No greater call"

LOVE SOFTENS HEARTS
A new teacher was having problems with some misbehaving class members. She sought advice from a member of the Sunday School presidency, and he suggested that she conduct an experiment. She was to select a disruptive class member and then show that person in five different ways that she cared about him or her. A few weeks later, the leader asked the teacher how she was doing. She reported that the person she had selected had stopped misbehaving, so she was in the process of selecting another class member. After two more weeks the leader inquired again. The teacher said that she was having difficulty finding someone to work with. When he asked her a third time, she told him that she had selected three different class members, one after another, and that when she started to show that she cared about them they had ceased being disruptive. In each case, love had softened a heart.
The Power of a Teacher’s Love
As we show love for those we teach, they become more receptive to the Spirit. They become more enthusiastic about learning and more open to us and others in the group. Often, they awaken to a renewed sense of their eternal worth and a greater desire for righteousness.

The children in our primaries want to be loved. Pray and work with your primary to know their names and interest. A little bit of attention goes a long way for a little child. I know that as we invest our time & attention into these special spirits our primaries will be a more reverent place.
